Ting-an is a philosopher who aims to incorporate ethical reflections into technology development in pursuing social justice. She is currently an assistant professor in philosophy at the University of Connecticut (UConn). Before joining UConn, she spent two years at Stanford University as an interdisciplinary ethics postdoctoral fellow at the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society and the Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). She earned her Ph.D. in philosophy and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies from Rutgers University. Before pursuing graduate studies in philosophy, she received her B.S. in Life Science from National Taiwan University and spent one year at UC Berkeley as an exchange student. She has extensive experience conducting research projects, university teaching, public presentations, and community outreach. Her training in different disciplinary environments enables her to translate complicated notions into accessible forms for audiences of diverse backgrounds.
