Experienced presenter to guilds, libraries, book stores, book festivals, and other interested organizations on topics including feed sacks and art quilts. Presentations based on my books Feed Sacks: The Colourful History of a Frugal Fabric and Art Quilts of the Midwest are richly illustrated with professional PowerPoint presentations. Feed sack presentations include actual artifacts—sacks, ephemera, quilt tops, etc. Invited presenter in Jan.-Feb. 2018 at the Textile Research Centre, Leiden, the Netherlands, for workshops and lectures. Other presentations given at libraries, museums, guild meetings, and book stores in Iowa, Minnesota, Texas, Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri, and NYC.

Design and write instructions for quilts and other sewn items with partner Pam Ehrhardt

Acquired quilts and ephemera from local and national collectors for the exhibition Feed Sacks. Worked with gallery staff and volunteers to hang and take down show. Presented multiple gallery talks and tours; participants drove from four and five hours away to attend. This exhibition was based on my expertise on feed sacks gained while researching and writing my book Feed Sacks: The Colourful History of a Frugal Fabric.

Coordinated exhibition based on my book Art Quilts of the Midwest with the museum's curator, Dr. Sandra Sider.

Guest curated an exhibition based on my book Art Quilts of the Midwest. Worked with 21 artists to coordinate borrowing pieces; with museum staff to hang and take down the show; presented gallery talk on the influence of physical and emotional geography on art quilts.
