About Lior Suchoy
Postdoctoral Research Associate in Rock Mechanics with a background in Geodynamics at Imperial College London. My main area of expertise is the numerical modelling of fracture propagation under temperature shock stresses, as well as large-scale tectonic processes (specifically subduction dynamics). I have significant coding experience in Python, C++ and MATLAB developing modelling systems for both academic purposes and for private clients. Apart from developing numerical models, my past coding projects include database setup, machine-learning optimisation of prediction algorithms and real-time processing of big data. I have wide academic experience (publishing, presenting and teaching) and technical experience (geotechnical engineering and geochemical analysis). I am also familiar with various tools such as GitHub, JMP, WordPress, etc. I am looking for ambitious projects in geothermal and other renewable energy developments.

I'm a research associate (PDRA) at Imperial College. My work focuses on the development of fractures in rocks due to stresses and thermal shock.I use numerical methods to study multi-physical 3D simulations of subsurface systems. My simulations include nucleation, growth, and interaction of multiple discontinuities, with applications to the geomechanical modelling of fluid injection, the permeability of fractured rock masses, and emerging methods in computational mechanics. My work can be used in the context of geological storage of hydrogen, geothermal energy, carbon storage (CCS) and compressed air energy storage.I conduct my research together with work with Dr Adriana Paluszny and other colleagues from the Rock Mechanics Group at Imperial College London.
