Undergraduate research assistant in Furey Computational Genomics Lab. Worked on a variety of projects under the scope of Irritable Bowel Disease over my 4 semesters with the lab. Conducted differential analysis on RNA-seq data to discover variability in expression between the ascending and rectal sigmoid colon. Developed and tested filtering methods for ATAC-seq data in order to run differnential analysis and determine regions of open chromatin with high variability in Chron's Disease patients. Also worked with and organized lab data in order to help create a database system to provide easier access to an array of sample information across different experiment types.

I interned for a teams within the State of North Carolina's Office of IT Services called the NC Innovation Center and Digital Commons. My position at the Innovation Center involved developing ways to better represent the State's data to make it more accessible to citizens on the web. This included developing dynamic and interactive JavaScript charts and infographs along with a website to house these charts from which they can be accessed. With Digital Commons, I worked on creating, adding, and editing content in newly designed State Department websites.
