About Lis Every

I retired from teaching and pursued a career in local government, As a Councillor for the City of Ely Council I was Mayor of the City of Ely for 2 years, and then a District Councillor for East Cambridgeshire. I was Vice Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council when an elected member and Chair of East Cambridgeshire District Council I was Chair of the Community Safety Partnership working with East Cambridgeshire District Council and was their Lead member for Skills on the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Skills Committee. My aims still remain on pride in the City of Ely through individual and corporate responsibility. I believe in partnership working and want to support the development locally of the skills agenda and employability of young people working in partnership with all stakeholders and continue to work with our local skills centres on this agenda. Working with people, I enjoy getting to know all the local community groups and engage with as many as I can. I am a Steering Group member for the Ely branch of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Chamber of Commerce and on the Cathedral Business Group Steering Group. I am a Governor at a local primary school and secondary school and Chair of Trustees of the Volunteers Centre (VCAEC).
