The ONE Campaign is a global advocacy and campaigning organisation dedicated to ending extreme poverty and preventable disease. As the interim UK Director, and alongside the role of Policy & Advocacy Director, I led a multi-function team delivering the ONE Campaign's advocacy, campaigns, media and partnerships work in the UK. Responsible for ONE's strategic direction and external engagement in the UK during a General Election year and at a time of significant organisational transition.

I led ONE's political influencing and policy work in the UK: defining policy asks, developing robust policy expertise, executing high-impact advocacy strategies, directly lobbying key UK political stakeholders, building influential relationships, partnerships and coalitions to leverage support for ONE's global priorities - including global health, climate and development finance.I was seconded to be Global Director of two of ONE's global priority campaigns: Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB… Show more I led ONE's political influencing and policy work in the UK: defining policy asks, developing robust policy expertise, executing high-impact advocacy strategies, directly lobbying key UK political stakeholders, building influential relationships, partnerships and coalitions to leverage support for ONE's global priorities - including global health, climate and development finance.I was seconded to be Global Director of two of ONE's global priority campaigns: Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria 7th Replenishment (2022) and global education (2021) - leading multi-disciplinary project teams across North America, Europe and Africa.Results:- Collaborated with ONE in Africa and influential thought leaders and partners to develop a political influencing strategy and subsequent policy prospectus, which secured engagement and dialogue with key political targets ahead of the 2024 General Election.- ONE's Global Fund campaign was integral to the historic $15.7 billion secured for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, including 30% increases from the US, Canada, Germany, Japan and the EU. I led a global multi-disciplinary project team of 40 and the campaign strategy targeting 14 donor governments. Led relationships with key stakeholders including the Global Fund Secretariat, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, (RED) and Elton John AIDS Foundation. - Built a high performing policy and advocacy team continuously building ONE's profile in Westminster and Whitehall, including delivering creative and engaging events and activations. Highlights include the inaugural Global Changemaker Awards in 2023, a Westminster Day of Action about the East Africa Hunger Crisis in which 30 MPs met with 60 youth activists, Fever Tree Gin & Tonic reception, high visibility Westminster takeover with mobile billboards and tube station adverts, and Crush the Crises batak game at party conference season. I played an advocacy leadership role in global project teams for campaigns relating to UK hosted moments such as the G7 (2021) and Global Vaccine Summit (2020).Results:- Led ONE's advocacy in the UK to improve global access to Covid-19 vaccines, including media engagement. Spearheaded advocacy tactics and targeted lobbying, which gained significant media coverage and put ONE's policy objectives on the agenda of the UK hosted G7.- Co-Director ONE's Global Education Campaign. Led a global project team of 25 to deliver creative and innovative campaign assets, including an interactive Lost Potential Tracker to drive awareness of the scale of the global learning crisis with target audiences. The campaign secured political commitments from the G7 to increase foundational literacy and record donor and domestic funding for the Global Partnership for Education.- Secured increased UK funding commitments to the Global Partnership for Education (2021); Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (2020) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria (2019) resulting from lobby plans that I drove on behalf of ONE and with sector partners in an increasingly tough political context. Over 18 months I led the lobby plan and cross-Whitehall engagement which convinced the UK government to co-host the Summit. As a direct result of this strategy, malaria featured prominently in the Prime Ministers' speeches at CHOGM and 53 Heads of Government committed to halving malaria in the Commonwealth by 2023.- Secured HRH The Prince of Wales as the keynote speaker at the Malaria Summit and worked with Clarence House on the speech, logistics and briefing materials.- Quadrupled the number of active parliamentary champions and substantially increased support on the centre-right. Secured MP pieces in Times Red Box and Telegraph and several PMQs.- Executed an extensive programme of high-level events and visits. Highlights include the global launch of the WHO World Malaria Report by the Secretary of State and cross-party MP field trips to Kenya and to visit global health institutions in Geneva.- Built and deployed a diverse coalition of influential champions including MPs, business, science and talent.
