Selected to join the Merck Benefits and Compensation Department following the merger with Schering Plough. Manage the relationship with Cigna for Merck’s Short-/Long-Term Disability Program and the Family Leave Act (FMLA). Ensures compliance with HIPAA, ADA and other federal, state and local laws. Redesigned the Paid Parental Time Off Policy to enable flexibility and support new parents. Oversee the full range of Work-Life Programs including Paid Time Off (PTO), Leaves of Absence, Flexible Work Arrangements, Child Care Resources, Elder Care and Back Up Child Care. Liaison with Merck’s 3 Child Care Centers. Created policies, Guides and Summary Plan Descriptions for Work-Life Programs in collaboration with the Organizational Readiness Team.

Managed the Qualified and Non-Qualified Savings Plan as well as the US Retirement Plans for 30K employees. Benefit Lead for Puerto Rico Benefit Plans with 2 dotted line reports. Delivered new hire benefit orientation programs on a weekly basis.
