About Lisa A. Phalen

I bring a unique skill set to the role of advocacy in the field of autism. I am currently an adjunct assistant professor at Old Dominion University with a Ph.D. in Special Education. I completed all research in the doctoral program in meeting the unique needs and challenges of children with autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, I have taught in the field of special education and early education for over 25 years, specializing as a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS) with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). I have special insight into autism, due to being the parent of a young adult on the spectrum. I am dedicated to improving the lives of families and children on the autism spectrum.
