In my role as Director of Marketing at RSA Engineering, Inc., I was responsible for responding to RFPs, maintaining the company's social media presence, and promoting community engagement. I successfully implement and track business development activities, focused on client retention.

Provide project coordination (monitor scope and change, monitor budgets, and maintain project schedules); manage written project deliverables; provide proposal development support and management; and assist senior management with business development and project needs as requested.

As part of the Oil & Gas Division (Conceptual & Engineering Services) Segment of Siemens Energy, we provided safety services and software sales to international and national firms. I developed and coordinated the safety and software proposals for these services. This includes compiling proposal information; leading kickoff and review meetings; working with SMEs to develop the proposal’s estimates, scopes, and schedules; ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and external RFPs; and keeping all involved personnel on schedule to ensure timely proposal delivery.

My responsibilities included: handling subcontract documents, ensuring vendors had the proper insurance, contacting vendors for information, receiving and processing certified payroll and other duties as assigned.

Under my business license I provided editing, technical writing, and document publication for a local business. We produced a 176-page white paper on energy usage at public facilities in Alaska.

I was living near Paris, France. My husband was pursuing a schooling opportunity and I joined him for a life experience of my own. While not traveling, I maintained my professional skills by blogging, working to complete my MBA, and developing my photography skills.

As the only member of the marketing department, I was responsible for a wide-variety of tasks. My primary responsibility was to manage proposals from start to finish. This included finding relevant RFPs, identifying staff members to list, and developing the firm's qualifications. It also included editing, formatting, and finalizing the proposal. Other responsibilities included: maintain the information databases, develop material for presentations, create marketing material (brochures, literature, website content), support the company President with public relation tasks, and plan company events. This position exposed me to the many facets of marketing and business development. Above all, this position provided me with a solid set of skills that can be directly applied to nearly any marketing or business development position.

I sat on the Board of Directors for AEMAA for two years. AEMAA transitioned into the SMPS Alaska Chapter. The overall responsibility of a board member was to act in the best interest of the association. My first position with the board was Treasurer. I managed the association’s funds, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reported the financial standings to the board. After my Treasurer term expired I took on the role of Programs Director. The role of Programs Director required that I research potential speakers, arrange for them to present at an upcoming event, communicate the event to our members, and ensure the event was professionally executed.

I provided support to project teams by completing project coordination and administrative duties. This included: maintaining project communications between the project team and the company; organizing and recording project meetings; managing project files; and a multitude of other tasks. While at the firm I also was a member of the Resource Management System (RMS) role-out committee. My role was to support the implementation of RMS (determine system capabilities), transition information into system, development training manuals, and train end users.
