I have 18 years of specialised history in compliance and risk management, working solely in financial services. I have a strong working knowledge of the legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice and professional body recommendations. In my roles I am primarily responsible for the review, update and ongoing monitoring of the compliance framework, incorporating the risk management systems, fraud prevention programs and AML-CTF obligations. I am normally the key person advising Boards, senior management and the operational teams as well as working with both internal and external stakeholders to make change happen.My approach is to dissect rulings or updates and provide solutions for the business to manage them. I am a person focused on both anticipating and providing answers, taking into account the strategic focus of the business in conjunction with my judgement of the best solution to support that focus. In that role I am also responsible for increasing the knowledge and understanding of the compliance and risk management obligations of Boards and senior management, as well as rolling out training to up-skill staff, with programs tailored to their roles.I have worked autonomously as well as part of teams, and am flexible and proactive. I know how to produce commercial solutions for businesses in an efficient manner.Documenting and structuring systems and processes is a key strength, seeing a process through from beginning to end, with attention to detail, is something I take pride in.
