My role at EKL Stairlifts is to promote the first rate service offered by this company in providing solutions to people who have lost or are losing the freedom of their homes through being unable due to weakened mobility to use the stairs. Until April of this year I was a member of Southend YMCA Senior Management Team. I managed the Positive Activities Department which consisted of a team of 8 staff across three projects worth a total of £700K. I worked closely with members of the SMT to ensure all SYMCA objectives were met. My role was both strategic and operational and involved liaising with stakeholder's, funder's, the Board of Trustee's, the SMT and the CEO to ensure the needs of vulnerable children and young people were met and that we continued to provide exceptional service and that all projects were managed safely, efficiently and professionally. I was responsible for line management of staff and volunteers; implementation, delivery and management of all projects, ensuring all objectives and targets were met safely and within budget. I was responsible for reporting and quantifying our results to funder's and seeking and securing complementary and replacement funding.The past 3 years with Southend YMCA have involved:Creating new projects which have increased the reach and market position of the organization.Effective networking and developing strategic partnerships with private and voluntary sector organizations, MP's and the Press.Working with young graduates to plan and deliver large scale events to promote the SYMCA and have a positive impact on the local community.Management of complex budgets, evaluation and monitoring of results and reporting to funder's.Exceeding targets on all of the projects I managed, one of them by 480%.Connexions, SouthendOctober 2005-April 2008As a Connexions Personal Advisor I worked with 13-21 year olds both as a Careers Advisor in schools and colleges and as a targeted PA working on a one to one basis supporting the most disaffected young people through a range of issues ranging from school exclusion, leaving care, teenage pregnancy, homelessness and drug alcohol abuse. I exceeded all personal targets to reduce the NEET figures locally.

As an Employment Coordinator for Rethink I worked with 18-65 year olds with Mental Health Problems and duel diagnosis and supported them into employment and work related activities. I was involved with the rolling out of the New Deal for people with disabilities initiative and liaising with job centres and employer's to create suitable opportunities for people with disabilities.

I worked with my husband to set up a mobility company providing mobility products including scooters, wheelchairs, stair lifts etc. to the elderly and disabled. I was responsible for all advertising and marketing initiatives within the company including the organization of large scale Mobility Roadshows in shopping centres, organizing competitions and PR events to generate new customers and liaising with charities and old people's organizations to generate new business leads.
