People often have the misconception that school administrators only meet with parents and discipline students. Well nothing could be further from the truth! In addition to working with staff and families I’ve used my natural talents of creative training and meticulous planning to benefit the organizations I’ve been a part of. Throughout my years in education I’ve been privileged enough to oversee multiple major projects, train educators on large scales, and organize school and community events and while I've enjoyed every minute I’m now choosing to transition into training and project management full-time. So, how has my current role assisted me in preparing for this career conversion? Well, on a regular basis I must excel at being organized and driven while being exceptional at prioritizing and multi-tasking. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills and I know how and when to use those skills to address audiences on various levels. Through the projects I’ve lead and even those I’ve played other roles on, I’ve had opportunities to discuss the wants and needs of stakeholders and while bringing their visions to life, identify and acquire necessary resources, manage and come in under budgets, stay on timelines, create and present required trainings and multi-task to handle the other requirements of my job. In short, I do it all.Along with a Master’s degree in administration, I’ve also earned my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and am skilled in Microsoft office programs. I once said, "I can take anyone’s vision and convert it into a reality". Now I’m ready to use my project management and training skills, along with the experiences I’ve had over the years, to transition into a new position in a corporate environment.
