For over 10 years, I have been employed by an independent ownership group with two South Puget Sound hotel properties. These two mid-scale hotel properties each offer approximately 160 guest rooms as well as restaurant, lounge, and banquet services. Between the two hotel properties there are 327 guestrooms, 65+ staff members, 2 restaurants/lounges and over 7,500 sq ft of banquet space. My current position is Accounting Manager/Controller for both of these hotels. My regular duties include the full range of bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit & collections, credit card merchant accounts, and reconciliations. I am responsible for bi-weekly, monthly, and annual tax payments and reporting to local, state and federal authorities. Payroll processing is done on a bi-weekly basis for up to 65 employees between the two properties. I prepare and submit reports and payments to local, state, and federal tax authorities. As required, I have also participated in audits and reviews for these tax authorities. In addition, I prepare monthly and yearly operating statements and other financial reporting for the General Manager, hotel owners, banks, and franchises.

I was employed for two years as Credit Manager at this 450-room, full-service Hotel. Responsibilities included approving credit applications, accounts receivable, collections, and supervising the accounts receivable clerk and cash room clerk. I provided back up to payroll and accounts payable teams as well as assisted the Controller with special projects.
