My internship lasted 2 months from the 27th of June to the 27th of August. This internship was mainly focusing on Social Media growth for the company as they are marketing to Chinese clients but recruiting from the UK. My duties entailed firstly learning Chinese language and business culture, I had to research and learn first hand the huge differences from Chinese social media and how it is implemented day to day. Using this knowledge & understanding the Chinese business model I was then able to create marketing drives and campaigns for recruitment, only using Facebook for organic growth. I completed my ‘Blue Sky Project’ (an internally useful document of thorough research able to present to the Chinese board of stakeholders of an area of the company that is not being utilise) on the Western approach VS Chinese to Facebook. This internship was life changing for me, not only did it give me huge knowledgeable insights into the Chinese business market, a new perspective on culture but I new found send of my myself. I was completely out my comfort zone since day one, as before leaving I knew none of the language, culture, city and no one out there. This once in a lifetime experience has further excelled my leadership, team working and problem solving skills immensely. -
