I love helping people learn mathematics. I like to help people break down problems and create solutions. I author, edit, and develop print and digital mathematics content for grades K–Higher Education. I always think about the students’ needs first when developing mathematics content in order to promote student success. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working with mathematics content at various levels. First, I started as a mathematics instructor and taught middle school and high school mathematics. Publishing intrigued me because I would be able to create the content that would be used within the classroom. I started working in publishing and developing mathematics content while simultaneously teaching at the college level as an adjunct professor. It brings me joy knowing that the content I create and that our group creates will be user-friendly and help students learn mathematics more effectively. At Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, I was able to pursue another passion by performing the voice over for some of the digital content.I like a challenge. I am fascinated by the logistics of the publishing process and project management as well. I enjoy developing more efficient methods in order to streamline workflows. I love the challenge of working with given resources and making the most out of them. Outside of work, I like to give back to the community by coaching youth sports and serving on multiple boards of directors. My main focus for my volunteer work is to help children and young athletes develop leadership skills and a passion for their interests.
