With over 30 years experience at the US Environmental Protection Agency, I support E-Enterprise for the Environment: a national partnership transforming how EPA, States, and Tribes work together to protect the environment. I believe in the power of authentic collaboration – as a practical model for effecting real change. Building trust through active listening is foundational - and critical - to sustain a thriving and resilient democracy at all levels of civil interaction. E-Enterprise relies upon and reflects this ideal.Following the traditional enforcement-compliance path at EPA (Headquarters) from 1991-1998, I staffed EPA’s policy office supporting sustainable and multi-media initiatives and regulatory innovative efforts. Prior to my federal employment, I was an attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel at Pennsylvania’s environmental department litigating wetlands, coal mining, and hazardous waste cases.Specialties: Environmental policy practice includes state and tribal collaboration to modernize shared governmental environmental protection practices, extensive study on EU integrated permitting system, regulatory and permitting innovation, sustainable products, lean/continuous process improvement, among other cutting-edge topics.Enforcement experience covers state/federal environmental practice in water, wetlands, RCRA, and Superfund.
