Advisory Board MemberAustralian Futures Project Nov 2018 - Apr 2020SydneyThe lack of accountability on important long-term issues is holding our country back. It's time for Australians to come together and work constructively on actions that balance the immediate and long-term needs of the country. The Australian Futures Project is a non-profit, non-partisan organisation with a mission to end short-termism in Australia. We work with politicians, leaders, government and citizens to address the root-causes of short-termism, which will in turn unlock action on a range of important, individual long-term issues. Based on our first five years, our core initiatives to tackle short-termism are: 1. Pulse of Australia - Informing and empowering Australians to hold leaders and institutions to account for the future they actually want - based on new data and analysis of their values and aspirations. (Coming early 2019.)2. Parliamentary Leaders Program - World class professional development for sitting politicians. Producing a new generation of politicians who govern well, hold the government of the day to account, and transform the political system itself. (Relaunching with a new scholarship after the Federal election.)3. Federation 2.0 - Installing updates and introducing major catalytic reform to Australia’s decision-making system, unleashing faster action on important individual long-term issues.
