I was the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Silvermex Resources Inc, a mid-tier producing silver mining company with operations in Mexico. I began working at Silvermex in May of 2011 until July of 2012 when the Company was purchased by a major silver producer. During this time, I was part of a small senior executive team which worked together to develop the strategic direction of the Company, culminating in the eventual take-over. I was also involved in investor relations and managed the capital market activities. I oversaw all aspects of the office including finance and legal as well as implemented structure, controls, budgeting, corporate governance, and fiscal policy with direct reporting to the Board of Directors.

I was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Polaris Minerals Corporation from 2006 to 2011 where I managed and oversaw the Company’s debt and capital market activities, including managing banking relationships with US, Canadian and International banks. During my career at Polaris, I completed numerous debt and equity financings, and oversaw the implementation of the financial controls, processes and corporate financing strategies required to bring the Company from the development stage to large-scale commercial production. I was also an integral member of a team of senior executives that negotiated strategic joint ventures, operational contracts and maintenance of positive and productive relations with the Company’s First Nations Partners.

I spent eleven years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, achieving the position of Senior Manager, where I focused on mining and junior resource mining companies. I obtained my Chartered Accountants designation in 1997.
