 Instruct first year law students in a two-semester legal writing course on topics that include oral advocacy, legal research techniques, and memorandum and brief writing.

 Extensive work in broad range of legal areas including: complex commercial litigation; internal investigations; white collar defense; construction; compliance; bankruptcy; employment; dispute resolution; and family law.  Regularly draft briefs, complaints, motions, mediation statements, discovery requests and responses, and other pleadings in complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Conduct internal corporate investigations regarding allegations of misconduct and compliance or ethics related violations. Develop litigation strategies and counsel clients on potential civil and criminal exposure. Coordinate and manage numerous complex document reviews and productions involving voluminous amounts of electronic data. Regularly appear in state, federal, and administrative court proceedings and participate in mediations and arbitrations on behalf of clients. Prepare clients and witnesses to testify in various state and federal proceedings. Draft and negotiate contracts, leases, and settlement, purchase, professional services, and confidentiality agreements. Represent a variety of clients in pro bono litigation matters in state and federal court, including a Seventh Circuit criminal appeal.

Associate in Corporate Restructuring Group: Supervised the litigation process related to over 16,000 bankruptcy claims, including day-to-day supervision of a team of approximately 10 attorneys and paralegals. Researched and drafted both transaction-related and litigation-related documents, including trial memoranda, summary judgment and other motions, appellate briefs and other complex pleadings, settlement agreements, engagement letters, and board presentations. Acted as primary client contact and regularly interfaced and strategized with in-house counsel and senior management on a variety of business and restructuring matters including, but not limited to, day-to-day operational issues and contract negotiations. Litigated and negotiated a wide range of commercial disputes. Managed all aspects of the discovery process.  Served as member of the summer associate legal hiring and recruitment committee and the associate mentoring program. Maintained an active federal and state pro bono practice.

 Managed the Emergency Witness Assistance Program, which provided short-term relocation services to endangered witnesses and their families.  Founded and co-chaired a multi-agency federal task force that focused on victim issues in the federal system.  Served as a member of the Coordinators' Advisory Committee (CAC), a sub-committee of the U.S. Attorney General's Advisory Committee from April 2000 - July 2003. Awarded Inspector General's Integrity Award and Award for Excellence, and received formal recognition from the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for exceptional service in the public interest.
