The Regions of Queens was hit with multiple economic downturns in 2012/2013 including the closure of their largest employer Resolute Paper. Consolidation of the forestry sector in 2012-13 led to further closures of forestry-related businesses and as such I was seconded from the Province of NS to the Region Of Queens to assist the Municipality in seeking out economic opportunities such as the re-purposing of the former Bowater Paper mill to a clean tech hub.
