My experience at some of the top small hospitals in the country has helped hone my skills and made me appreciate working in departments that not only deliver, but expect to deliver, quality care on a daily basis. During the past year, I have played an instrumental role in helping to launch a new outpatient surgery center, and gained experience in Employee Health. This has helped shape my planning and organizational skills while heightening my awareness of our community, our needs, and my role in it. It is because of this experience; I feel called at this point in my career to have a direct role in serving in a community health center setting. My varied career has included working in acute care hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, with experience in everything from Post Anesthesia Care Units to Emergency Departments and from Intensive Care to office settings. I am experienced in providing pre- and post-operative education to clients and family and have helped improve the department procedures and protocol as a member of the Professional Practice Model committee.
