At Carolinas Healthcare System (now known as Atrium), I was an RN on the cardiac unit. I led the assessment of 4-5 patients during each of my 12 hour shifts as well as medication administration and following the plan of care to properly care for patients. Furthermore, I acted as charge nurse for a 32 bed cardiac unit and a Unit Educator for new staff members, both RN's and CNA's.Carolinas Healthcare System originated in 1943 and evolved into the largest hospital in the region and a world-class facility that offers a full range of services to the Charlotte community and beyond, with more than 1,100 physicians and providers specializing in all areas of medicine.

I had several roles at Mercy, working on the MedSurg Unit, as a Float Nurse and a also within the Step Down Cardiac Unit. I left my position to relocate to South Carolina.Mercy Health is a Roman Catholic health care system with locations in Ohio and Kentucky

At Medical Surgical I Implemented patient care for up to 6 patients during each shift utilizing my knowledge and skills in nursing theory and process. In addition, I cared for a variety of critically ill clients at a level three trauma center and educated patients and families about health care needs, conditions and options.In both 2008 & 2009 I was nominated to receive the Rising Star Nursing Award.

My role grew within this company from a clerk all the way to an internal auditor.
