My goal is to provide opportunities for students that help them prepare for gainful employment, whether they are college bound or not. Staff development, curriculum development and school involvement are an important part of the role, but being involved with the community, the industries, local business and agencies, and the post-secondary schools are just as important. I want our training to be consistent with what's needed in the real world, for our certifications to match, and for dual-credit to be obtained where possible.Curriculum development and execution for secondary education: Arts (Animation), Business, Finance, Health Science, InfoTech (non-Computer Science), Marketing, as well as Middle School Business.Other responsibilities include assisting with district budget preparation, obtaining state and federal funds if possible, managing all aspects of classroom Technology Inventory, vendor negotiations, and remaining current in the rules and regulations effecting career and technology education.

It was in this role that I first started working with Career & Technology coordinators and teachers on a regular basis. Together we provided staff developments, did model lessons, and created lessons that align with industry standards.I worked with new and existing teachers to raise their level of technology integration into the classroom, and observed and provided feedback to teachers regarding their instructional practices and strategies. I also developed and participated in content advisory meetings and assumed leadership responsibilities in special projects as needed.

As an Ag teacher and FFA Advisor, it was my responsibility to maintain knowledge of Agricultural Science curriculum and to deliver engaging classroom instruction for multiple courses. To do this, I kept the program active in livestock shows, leadership development events, career development events, and community service activities. It was important to me to maintain a program suitable for all students, so I coordinated with school administration and counselors, the FFA Booster Club, Supervised Agricultural Education (SAE) team, and with the Special Education Director. I was recognized as a Golden Horizon Chapter - Single Teacher Department at the Texas State FFA Convention and served as the Executive Director for the Livestock Show Association for CFISD.

I collaboratively worked with a teaching partner to develop a program that struck the interest of inner city students and maintained a positive and safe environment for all students. I was responsible for the 9th grade campus instruction, managing the SAE projects, and training students for leadership and career development teams. I also organized a Livestock Show and Sale for the Galena Park ISD FFA students.
