Function of Position: Performs computer programming and analysis activities as assigned to fulfill project requests, resolve problem reports and respond to help desk calls. This includes investigation, coding, testing, updating documentation, and preparation for implementation.- Receives assignments verbally or written. Consults with user to aid in the analysis of programming requests and resolution of problem reports and help desk calls.- Applies general technical knowledge for testing and resolving problems. Serves as a resource when needed.- Must be able to use their problem solving, reasoning, and judgment skills to resolve issues with minimal supervision.- As requested, learn and become proficient in new technologies (examples are, but not limited to, programming languages, software, applications, etc.).- On call as needed to resolve application problems that affect the production environment.- Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose: The Systems Analyst is responsible for one or more major administrative computer systems.Nature and Scope: The Systems Analyst is a full-time, 12 month appointment on a schedule with potential off-hour emergency support at established by the Associate Director of Programming Services. The Systems Analyst provides technical support to advise, develop, implement, document and maintain the College’s administrative computer systems. The position involves frequent handling of confidential information and records. Minimal supervision is provided; the Systems Analyst must be able to work independently and accurately prioritize tasks.Essential Job Functions:• Work directly with users to identify user and functional requirements.• Capability to turn user and functional requirements into technical requirements.• Ability to model functional requirements into a data schema.• Analyze, design, develop, document, and maintain computer programs and systems of programs.• Use a variety of programming skills and languages to create new applications systems or to support and maintain existing applications.• Research new technologies in order to provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements to administrative systems.• Respond to service requests in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.• Install software revisions, updates and fixes.• Train users with the capability and operation of administrative systems.• Other duties as assigned.My main area of responsibility at Parkland College is maintaining the Student ERP software which is Colleague by Ellucian. This includes end user training, system updates, custom modifications, troubleshooting, testing, and custom reporting using SQL, C#, Crystal Reports, and Business Objects. I have conducted two ERP migrations in my time at Parkland College. I have excellent interpersonal communication skills and have experience speaking in front of small and large groups of people.
