Year one of the core surgical doctor trainee programme. I had two specialty rotations at the Royal Stoke hospital, which is a busy tertiary trauma centre. I was an active trainee that took part in audits, regular theatre hours, local mentorship and teaching programmes.

I rotated through 6, four month rotations (AED, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Colorectal surgery, GP, Trauma and orthopaedics) at a busy tertiary trauma centre in the height of the covid-19 pandemic. The nature of this work forged core professional skills such as communication, presentation and team management.
