I work for a company called Diakon under their Youth and Family Services Department with the Bridge Program. We are contracted through the Juvenile Justice System and Dependency Courts in Delaware, Chester, and Lancaster Counties. I manage the Delaware County Bridge Program during the week. I manage 9 workers, who mentor and encourage positive change in youth and their families. They do this by seeing youth 3+ times per week at home, in school, and in the community. Bridge workers help youth develop competency skills, fulfill court ordered community service hours, as well as teach them skills to meet individual goals. This is completed through one-on-one individual meetings, group settings with other peers in the program, and family meetings.
