I joined Lantra in July 2023 as a horticultural development officer with the Welsh Government's Farming Connect Programme. We support the horticultural industry in Wales, aiming to raise the availability of local edible, ornamental and other horticultural products. We work with horticultural businesses, help build growth and resilience, raise skills, and support co-operation.I have previously worked on projects for charities and local authorities in London for 9 years. This includes horticultural projects for the London Borough of Havering and Trees for Cities; environmental and humanitarian projects with Groundwork London; and conservation projects with the Bat Conservation Trust. I have also worked with my husband’s horticultural design business for many years. I led a Heritage Lottery funded project in Langton's Gardens, a London park. I organized events, managed volunteers, and developed the space for the community. The project transformed the once-dilapidated park, adding natural play areas, community growing spaces, sculpture trails, interpretive signage, and wildlife ponds. The volunteer team still tends the gardens, working to "green" all Havering. The park won gold and "park of the year" at the 2022 London in Bloom awards and was featured in the "Good parks guide". I previously worked for the Bat Conservation Trust on the 'Bats in Churches' project. The Heritage Lottery-funded project was in its development stage, led by Natural England. I developed a volunteer and training plan and contributed to the activity plan, consultation, and report. As a result of the small teams efforts, the project received 3.8 million in funding. At the start of my career, I taught design in secondary schools for nearly five years. I hold a 2.1 Master's of Science in product innovation and development, including project management. I also have a 2.1 BA Hons, PGCE, and a level 3 Forest School Leader qualification. My creative portfolio is available on my website; https://lisalock.com/ . I am currently renovating a campervan and looking after tropical plants and fish. I also enjoy baking, crafting, hiking and paddleboarding.
