For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for saving the world. As an avid advocate for sustainability and a staunch believer in the power of the circular economy, I find myself on a mission to weave environmental consciousness into the fabric of our professional and personal endeavours.My passion for reducing our impact on our environment was especially ignited when I worked as a Sustainability Consultant in my final year of studies while at university at the National Centre for Sustainability. I graduated as an engineer and thought I could make a difference as an engineering consultant in the water/wastewater treatment space. While I feel I gained strong technical experience as an engineering consultant, I still felt the pull towards sustainability, climate change, circular economy and anything to do with waste management, now often referred to as resource recovery. My eyes were opened to the world of sustainability in the infrastructure space while at Losee Consulting. I had the privilege of experiencing the inner workings of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council's sustainability rating for major infrastructure projects. The breadth and depth of how sustainability spans across all areas of a project is highlighted through these ratings. I have a new sense of respect for how important it is to communicate and collaborate innovative ideas across all levels and departments early on in the project. Early engagement and buy-in from the project's leadership team on sustainability targets and objectives are paramount to the success of sustainability being carried through from design to construction and throughout the life of the operating asset. Driven by a deep-rooted commitment to creating a positive impact, I leverage my skills and expertise to champion sustainable practices and catalyse change. With a keen eye for innovation, I strive to transform traditional models into regenerative systems, where every resource is valued and nothing goes to waste.Moving forward, I aim to collaboratively shape a future where businesses thrive in harmony with the planet, demonstrating that profitability and environmental stewardship can indeed go hand in hand.If you share a passion for sustainable solutions and a vision for a circular economy, let's connect and inspire change together.
