About Lisa Margonelli

For many years I was a reporter, with a particular interest on showing how larger systems affected individuals. When I was writing a book on the oil supply chain in the early 2000s, I got a fellowship with the New America Foundation, where I learned about how to engage in the policy arena. Now, as editor in chief of Issues in S&T, I have the privilege of helping to convene a large conversation on effective policy for (and from) the US scientific enterprise. It's the greatest story never told: S&T policy is tremendously important and tremendously under-reported in the mainstream press.
