Lisa Marie Marroquin has always been passionate about ensuring that government improves the quality of life of the people it serves. She has made it her personal mission to work for the prosperity of underrepresented communities by advocating for just public policy as well as civic and electoral participation. She started her career as a labor organizer for the Service Employees International Union where she fought for economic justice for childcare providers. She then worked as a community organizer for Communities for a New California Education Fund where she ran civic engagement campaigns aimed at increasing community access to local government. She served as Legislative Deputy to Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti where she focused on moving forward his legislative agenda. She also served as Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships in the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom. Regardless of the sector she works in, Lisa remains committed to her personal mission which was inspired by her Jesuit education at Loyola Marymount University.
