Experienced graphic designer who specializes in apparel graphics and merchandise for the Athletic, Music, and Entertainment industries. Corey began his career in Jacksonville, Florida designing pop culture and sports apparel for Fanatics, one of world’s largest online sports retailers. After several years, he moved to NYC to be the in-house designer for Warner Music Group. And a year later it went from a side project to a full time passion. Ready to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, Corey moved back down to Florida but this time to the west coast of sunny Sarasota, FL to continue working on his own brand and freelance career. Corey Thomas Design is a specialty creative studio specializing in apparel, licensed merchandise, logo design, branding, and illustration. Corey works with some of the worlds largest apparel dealers including Bandmerch, Global Merchandise, Live Nation, Manhead, Merch Traffic, & Warner Music Group. In early 2018 Corey teamed up with Mad Engine LLC as a remote freelance designer to work on properties such as Coca-Cola, Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars & more!

I mainly get to design shirts for bands and I absolutely love it. There is literally nothing else I would rather do with my life. I also design a lot of other merch items including posters, hats, wristbands and other promo gear. My current employment at Warner Music gives me the opportunity to design for a ton of bands. I also get to be apart of the entire process of producing merch too. From the idea, to the design, to printing, to feeling and seeing the final product. It is very fulfilling. I also get to work with some of the best freelance designers in the business, including people who I really look up too.

The name of Opeyy started in August of 1988. When a young baby boy entered the world, the father insisted on naming the child Opey, after his favorite character on the “Andy Griffith Show.” Upon his request, the mother smiled and said it would be fine under one condition, the child’s middle name would be her maiden name: Opeyy. 23 years later, Opeyy got a second chance and become the inspiration behind the design and artwork of Corey Batchelor.Opey Bobo was my small design studio. I used my illustration skills and background in fine art and graphic design to create work for a variety of clients. My inspiration for illustration and design comes from classic horror, fantasy stories, food items, and anything vintage. My studio specialized in three things: Custom Portraits, Graphic Design and Merchandise Illustration design.
