I am a strategic leader with extensive experience in health care AND program/project management. I am an excellent communicator, experienced researcher, speaker, and educator who can communicate in French and English. Having served on multiple Boards of Directors and numerous committees, I have the knowledge and skills to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. I have the research skills to design, collect, analyse, and professionally report on areas of interest in both qualitative and quantitative traditions. I have a keen eye for examining evidence, serve as a peer-reviewer for numerous journals, and offer expert opinions to various regulatory colleges and governments.My ‘systematic mind’ makes it relatively easy to envision the systems necessary to organize work, implement, review, evaluate effectiveness, and make changes with collaborative input for maximum effect. I have decades of experience managing operations, first as a military officer and later as the owner/partner in a large midwifery practice, followed by global health project management and leadership as a university professor and Director. These roles have also required flexibility, the organisational skills to multi-task, and the ability to respond to rapidly changing environments. I have expertise in accreditation and have been trained at both the national and international level to review educational programs. I was a founding member of the National Midwifery Education Accrediting Council. I have led several national projects on accreditation, clinical competencies, and national standards. I have a PhD in Interdisciplinary Health Policy and I am a member of a regulated healthcare profession. This means I have an in-depth knowledge of regulations and legislation, especially concerning privacy, records management, and government policies.I have IT skills and am confident with the Microsoft Office Suite, multiple virtual teaching and meeting platforms, project management software, and electronic records.Human resource management and accounting training has benefitted me throughout my career as an employer, working in a university/unionized and global health settings. Because of my experience in finance, I am confident in developing an annual budget, working with auditors, and handling contracts and accounts.I can flourish with minimal guidance and have a proven track record of self-driven success.
