Ms. Patt-McDaniel has created a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) Fund at the Affordable Housing Trust. A certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) is a specialized financial institution that works in market niches that are underserved by traditional financial institutions. The CDFI Fund will allow the AHT to attract additional capital for lending in the distressed neighborhoods of Columbus and Franklin County. Ms. Patt-McDaniel successfully obtained certification in February, 2016, and she is securing $10 million from private financial institutions and foundations.

Ms. Patt-McDaniel joined Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in 2011 as Director of Community Development. In this capacity, she is responsible for developing relations and products related to community development, including working with cities and in rural areas around housing issues such as vacant housing, leveraging local community development resources, and convening community development officials around common issues. Ms. Patt-McDaniel oversees the $750,000 OneCPD grant for the Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Department. This grant funds technical assistance engagements at HUD's direction in the areas of housing, community development and economic development.

Ms. Patt-McDaniel led this cabinet level state agency of over 400 professionals working in the areas of economic and community development, workforce training, and technology investment. The organization was recognized by Site Selection Magazine as the top economic development organization in the country in 2009. Several other program areas recognized nationally include community development, weatherization, brownfield development and tourism. As Director, Ms. Patt-McDaniel chaired the Interagency Council on Homelessness and Housing, the Clean Ohio Council, co-chaired the Minority Business Council, and served on the Third Frontier Commission. The Ohio Small Business Development Center Network received national accreditation while she was Director.

Ms. Patt-McDaniel designed and implemented this new division charged with building a business friendly workforce system. She created the budget, structure, new programs and a collaborative system with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Board of Regents. In addition she served as the Executive Director of the Governor's Workforce Board made up of 50 business and government executives.

Ms. Patt-McDaniel led a division of 100+ professionals in the areas of community development, energy, and community services with a budget of over $300m from federal and state sources. She was elected to the board of the Council of State Community Development Agencies and represented that group on the National Task Force on Program Performance Measurement for HUD Programs. She led the implementation of the Governor's Interagency Council on Homelessness and Housing.

Ms. Patt-McDaniel led an office of 50+ professionals administering Community Development Block Grant, HOME, and Emergency Shelter Programs funded through the Federal Government and the Ohio Housing Trust Fund with revenues from county recording fees. The office was consistently recognized nationally for its reputation for well managed, successful programs.

Ms. Patt-McDaniel managed a staff of twenty professionals and an annual budget of $20m + used for negotiating and closing economic development incentive packages for companies locating or expanding in the state of Ohio.

Managed $9 million annually in Community Development Block Grant Funds set aside for economic development loans and infrastructure grants that supported job creation and retention.

Worked in the southeastern Appalachian Region with counties and communities to design and implement projects funded with Community Development Block Grant Funds. Also, as an additional duty, managed the Ohio Downtown Grant program and worked with communities across the state of Ohio.

Ms. Patt-McDaniel staffed this eleven member bipartisan commission focused on intergovernmental relations. The commission was chaired by the Lt. Governor with membership of two county commissioners, two township trustees, two mayors, two state representatives, and two state senators.Authored two reports - State Mandates to Local Governments Examples of Intergovernmental Cooperation
