As the MSL at Caris, I work closely with health care providers to understand their tumor molecular profiling results. I provide presentations on Caris technologies. Part of my role as an MSL also involves educating on current cancer biomarkers and therapies, molecular tumor board support, clinical trial navigation assistance, and providing education on various aspects of personalized medicine.

As a field application scientist, I work with researchers and clinicians to ensure success in gene expression profiling in bulk population studies and with spatial information. Much of this work has been for biomarker discovery or validation. I have developed a strong background in experimental design, assay troubleshooting, and managing customer relations with online customer management programs. I also identified bottlenecks in internal training and customer facing content and created various step-by-step tutorials and training materials and worked with an interdisciplinary team to create this content and eventually create web pages containing this information. With this role, I have also mentored junior FAS and streamlined the onboarding process for new hires in the company.

Seattle, Wa

Under a dual appointment with the Kugel and Henikoff labs at Fred Hutch, I'm worked to elucidate mechanisms of pancreatic cancer tumorigenesis using various animal models and in vitro cell culture systems. This work was awarded a T32 training grant fellowship. I have also presented this work at a national conference as an oral presentation and at various center associated events in poster format.I mastered several skills in this role including animal husbandry, developing and characterizing novel genetically engineered mouse models, and deriving organoids from human and mouse tumor tissue. I generated genomics data and expanded my expertise characterizing these big data sets. I also coordinated with internal boards to update animal protocols for research.

I worked in the laboratory of Dr. David Cortez focusing on the processes of DNA replication and DNA repair. I was specifically interested in differentiating the function of members of a family of DNA translocases using molecular biological and biochemical techniques. This work was awarded a Kirschstein-NRSA pre-doctoral fellowship and several other institutional awards. I also published one peer-reviewed research article on this work, a shorter follow-up commentary, and a review article.

I worked in the laboratory of Drs. Jackie and Dave Roberts. I worked to crystallize a transcription factor and model the structure based on diffraction data gathered during my time in the lab. This work was summarized in a written research thesis and an oral presentation in my final year.
