About Lisa Ray-Jacobs

I grew up in the suburbs of London and trained as an actress at the prestigious Drama Centre. I have been working in the entertainment industry, predominantly as an English voice-over artist in Paris, for more than 25 years.In 2012 I started writing/producing short films and now have a few under my belt.In 2022 I workshopped and directed a short play I wrote, entitled 'Home', at Collage Arts/McQueens Theatre. I also directed my first short, 'Just Jewish', a film I also co-wrote, produced and acted in.My first feature script ‘Amsterdam’ (developed with Film London & Creative England) is seeking finance. Actress/director Tara FitzGerald will direct.I was a BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew participant in 2018 & 2019 as a writer. (Previously, I was credited for my work as Lisa Jacobs, my birth name).

In 2014, I produced, alongside Georgina French of French Fancy Productions Ltd, a short film I penned - 'Prick Thy Neighbour' - a short and curly tale about blooming late love. It is directed by actress Tara FitzGerald ('Exodus: Gods & Kings', 'Game of Thrones', 'Brassed Off', 'Waking the Dead', etc) and was her directorial début.Out of hundreds of applications, it was selected for Film London's 'London Calling' scheme and then went on to screen at 8 international film festivals including BAFTA/Oscar qualifier Palm Springs.Distributer Origine Films (France) has sold it to four territories: Japan, France (Ciné+ Emotion), Italy and ShortTV USA.
