About Lisa Reich

I am a sexual trauma therapist with Sanare Centre, in Medicine Hat. I provide healing support to all ages and genders to those who experienced sexual violence. Our centre works to reduce gender-based violence in the future. I employ a variety of therapeutic techniques including: EFIT, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, ACT, DBT, and some CBT. I work with my clients from a bottom up approach, working first to lower activation in the amygdala and limbic system, and increase activation in the cortex. Many clients are surprised that we do not spend much time, if at all, talking about their trauma story. We focus on assisting clients process the emotions, self-image loss, and grief experienced with sexual trauma. In addition to one-to-one and group therapy, our centre also offers police and court support, outreach, community education programs, boy's and men's leadership programs, a children's advocacy centre, and trauma informed parenting classes.As we are a charitable organization, we employ a sliding fee scale so finances are never a barrier.
