Hello, and thanks for reading this bit! In a nutshell, I love learning! When my head isn't buried in a book or plugged into a podcast, I can often be found lost in a google search, TED Talks or 'How to' YouTube video. I enjoy the challenge and discovery of learning, and my curiosity often leads me to information that sparks original, creative ideas. I love creating engaging content that tells a story with the end-user in mind, always. Never one to shy away from a challenge, I go out of my way to seek feedback. It is important to me to produce work that's functional and fit for purpose and can be built upon with suggestions from others. I have a deep passion for taking complex information or processes and breaking them down into engaging, digestible pieces. I think strategically, adapt to new ways of working and can work under a tight deadline!Experience in:- Agile working- Vyond- Powtoon- Articulate 360 – including Rise and Storyline- Evolve- Microsoft Teams - Virtual Orientation delivery- Orientation & Onboarding - design, implementation and delivery- Extensive experience in facilitating sessions- Myers Briggs - INTP- Accreditation in the following:- DiSC- Hemsley & Fraser’s ‘Train the Trainer Master Trainer Programme’- Continue & Begin

Functional & Technical Development PartnerQvc Oct 2017 - Jul 2020London, United KingdomProviding instructional design expertise to design and develop high impact learning solutions to meet global and market learning priorities. Partnering with subject matter experts to identify key learning objectives and content then designing potential solutions, based on uniqueness of learning content. Conceptualise and storyboard instructional, interactive and engaging solutions. Key projects include:Onboarding & Orientation Analysing current state onboarding and orientation from process to new hire experience, researching alternative solutions, collating feedback, and building a proposal which addressed opportunities to improve new hire experience and streamline existing processes and procedures. Presenting final findings and recommendations to the UK Senior Leadership Team and multiple stakeholders, proposing and implementing incremental changes over an agreed period with the support of participating stake holders. This involved challenging conventional ways of working, aligning new hire’s first day with orientation session to ensure each new team member received a consistent day one experience with a robust development plan in place for their first three months. Of all the projects I have worked on, this has been by far the most challenging, yet most rewarding. As QVC entered lockdown I had an awesome opportunity to design and create a 'manager toolkit'; a self-serve page which housed everything they needed in terms of setting their new hire up for success as well as links to equipment requests, key contacts and developmental forms. This was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of Articulate Rise and come up with something informative and attractive and was visually different for the learner. To compliment this, I designed an onboarding page for new hires including three development zones 'Discover', 'Evolve', 'Embed' as well as evolving our classroom induction to a one hour virtual session. -
Learning & Development Team LeaderDixons Carphone Feb 2017 - Oct 2017Field Based, United Kingdom & IrelandOne of my first objectives was to implement a team restructure and a subsequent a consultation process, supporting my team through a challenging period of change and uncertainty. With the new structure in place, I am continuing to develop my team to deliver modern learning interventions that provide a return on investment. The integration of Geek Squad and Knowhow into 'Team Knowhow' has seen me facilitate cultural and behaviours change sessions in a national roll out. Working with an external supplier allowed me to shape the workshops as well as ensuring an end to end solution was developed. To ensure the workshop had lasting impact. Managers received a kit containing support tools to use with their teams, as well as a phased roll out of a social learning campaign and further learning. I also project managed the implementation and ongoing development of the 90-day induction programme for newly appointed managers in Currys PC World and Carphone Warehouse, targeting a reduction in labour turnover of said population. I created a robust project plan, identifying and working with key stakeholders to ensure deadlines were met as well as working with colleagues and external suppliers to create a 90-day online learning plan across two learning management systems (LMS). Data was collated before the development of the programme in order to identify ongoing evaluation metrics. To ensure customers receive an engaging and consistent experience, I designed and developed our sales journey. This involved working with key stakeholders to identify 'social champions' who would create videos and blogs, posting them on Workplace by Facebook, to increase engagement and demonstrate what good looks like. These champions were given a workshop where practical skills were developed to further support them in this task.

Learning & Development Field SpecialistDixons Carphone Jul 2014 - Feb 2017Field Based, United Kingdom & IrelandThe Field Specialist role involved designing and delivering sales workshops to increase knowledge and ability to speak confidently and competently to customers. Continue & Begin accredited, I have run multiple coaching sessions to evolve existing skills and drive performance through effective conversations. I also delivered further management workshops on effective recruitment, self-development and managing colleagues.I have designed and built a digital operational toolkit hosted on our learning management system (LMS) for a talent development programme for aspiring managers in Currys PC World and Carphone Warehouse. I developed a workbook that complimented the digital learning where completion can be recorded, measured and signed off. 140 colleagues completed the programme with over 62% receiving a promotion into a management role after graduating within the first three months.I helped design the concept and project managed a social learning intervention for a new range of cameras launching 2017. Supporting the Learning Partner, I identified social champions who would talk about their allocated camera in review style videos and blogs, documenting their experiences over a three week period via our internal social media site Workplace by Facebook. Scheduling content release on Workplace and the LMS and creating a knowledge quiz to check back learning, the campaign was well received and viewed over 10k times in a three week period. This was a new and exciting way to release content to the colleague population over social media and trial engagement ready for the launch of the new service proposition 'Team Knowhow'. Recently a developed version of this learning intervention has received over 40k views, just four weeks into a twelve week campaign.

People ManagerDixons Retail Jul 2013 - Jul 2014Currys Pc World, Chelmsford, EssexThe People Manager role focussed on the recruitment, development and engagement of colleagues. As a role model for eighteen stores, it was my objective to shape and demonstrate the potential People Managers had. I implemented a 90-day new starter journey in my store, ensuring new colleagues were set up for success on their first day. I designed a new starter pack which included a credit card sized 'new starter card' which noted their login IDs as well as their line managers name, contact number, welcome letter and a four-week schedule. As a result, we saw our labour turnover reduce by over 10% in a one year period. Working with other managers in my team, I was able to create a talent and succession plan which allowed me to foresee future vacancies and gave me time to recruit the right people to the right position. Within one year, I had successfully developed three colleagues into Assistant Manager. We created a culture of engagement and recognition through several methods including our 'Wall of Fame' which saw two regions adopt these ideas and implement it into their own stores. This also helped us receive a nomination and place runner up for the store of the year (Chairman's Shield Award).
