Thank you for checking out my LinkedIn profile! I have been working in retail for 13 years, specifically in retail management for half of that. I’ve been in retail for so long because I adore working face to face with people! I have grown my skills in communication to quickly be able to assess what a customer is searching for and to suggest alternatives and add ons to help build their purchase along their visit. Along my journey I have learned how to be a successful assistant manager by having an open line of communication with my staff and understanding that not everyone learns the same way. This has helped me be able to successfully train every person on my staff to fulfill the goals and metrics of the store and have them feel confident in their own skills. I encourage question asking and taking initiative for their learning. I have always prided myself in my visual merchandising. I love to have a neat, clean, and orderly space. I find that it helps the customers feel more comfortable and allows them to find the items they’re searching for with ease. In the office and back room, it frees up space and cuts down on time searching for things. I ran the stockroom and sales floor organization while I worked at DSW in Holly Springs and prided myself in being able to direct my staff and shoe lovers exactly where the items they were searching for were.
