Before joining Booz Allen, Ms. Suits spent 6 years at Cable & Wireless, a UK-based global telecommunications and Internet service provider. Her most senior position with C&W was Vice President, Public Policy in C&W’s Japanese subsidiary in Tokyo. Ms. Suits was responsible for tariff support, licensing, and compliance as well as all position development and advocacy with Japanese government agencies, local business associations, and US, UK, and EU embassies in Japan. While in Tokyo, Ms. Suits oversaw the regulatory process for integrating three companies acquired by C&W in Japan: Digital Island, Exodus, and PSINet. She was also responsible for regulatory aspects of interconnection associated with the rollout of a domestic network in Japan, and regulatory aspects of inter-carrier relations with countries such as China, Korea and Thailand. Other positions Ms. Suits held at Cable and Wireless include Director, International Organizations, where she coordinated all C&W’s representation at global telecommunications, industry and standards bodies, including representing the Chief Executive Officer. During this time she also sat on the C&W Board's subcommittee managing C&W's global corporate social responsibility commitments with a budget of GBP 1 million.

Prior to Tokyo posting, managed corporate relations with governments, regulators, industry associations, standards organizations and diplomatic representatives in multiple jurisdictions, all outside the United States, primarily Europe and Asia.

While at AT&T, Ms. Suits was a member of a small Asia-based group responsible for regulatory relations with Asian governments. She performed political and economic analysis as input to AT&T’s strategic planning process for the Asian region. Ms. Suits was a member of the team that prepared the business case and successful bid materials for cellular franchises in India and Taiwan. In addition, she performed market and regulatory analysis on the Philippines, China, Korea, and Singapore. Ms. Suits provided government and regulatory support for the establishment of AT&T’s joint venture with the Shanghai Municipal Authority in the Pudong industrial development zone in China. She delivered policy reviews and recommendations on AT&T’s position regarding the China MFN issue.

In the Department of Commerce, Ms. Suits contributed to Executive Branch policy concerning the telephony, cable, and broadcasting industries. She was a team member for the DOC publications Telecommunications in the Age of Information; Globalization of the Mass Media; and U.S. Spectrum Management Policy. Ms. Suits has experience in both speech writing and Congressional testimony preparation.
