I grew up in southern California. I obtained my undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley where I double majored in Psychology and Molecular & Cell Biology. Then I completed a 5-year combined MD/MS in Clinical Research at the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. During this time my research was focused on physical function and aging on an epidemiological level. Afterward, I went to St Louis for a residency in anesthesiology at Washington University / Barnes Jewish Hospital. My medical training was completed in Boston with a fellowship specializing in chronic pain management at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital.I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2018 as an interventional and chronic pain physician because I believe in providing efficient yet high-quality care that improves the quality of life for patients suffering from chronic pain. My philosophy to chronic pain management is patient-centered: patients actively participate in their care as we help them regain their quality of life and improve their physical function through a multi-disciplinary approach utilizing a multi-faceted treatment plan.
