I am a high school Spanish teacher, who enthusiastically loves sharing my passion for Spanish-speaking countries and creatively inspiring my students to find their passion. During my 11 years of teaching Spanish 1-4, I have engaged students through authentic, diversified, interactive lessons. My experience includes Spanish through the four modes of communication skills; reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Skilled at creatively finding ways to get my students to produce Spanish using authentic dialogues. Another passion is doing Project Based Learning, helping students to see how they can use their Spanish outside of the classroom. In the class, I focus on positive reinforcement for classroom management, using PAT (preferred activity time). Using my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, many of the material used in my classrooms, I have created, helping to provide and educational experience outside of the textbook. The 2022-2024 academic years, I have served as an English teacher and teacher assistant in a high school and a private academy in Spain where I instructed on vocabulary and grammatical topics in American English. In my lessons; I created and executed written and oral practice, taught local idioms, presented on American cultural awareness, and formed connections with the students and my co-workers. During my time in Spain, I also was a student of Spanish history, cultural, festivals, gastronomy, and Castellano. I was able to travel to a variety locations, learning about how Spain's rich history and diverse populations have influenced the Iberian Peninsula. Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, I invested in improving my Spanish by taking classes at a B2 and C1, advance levels. Me encantaría seguir estudiando y mejorando mi nivel a C2. With a passion of exploring location, eating amazing food, and seeing the changes my gluten allergy played into my travels; in 2022, I acquired the knowledge of how to use WordPress and launched a blog on gluten free travel, with the desire to help others to continue enjoying traveling in spite of having to modify it due to food restrictions.
