Working in libraries - the best job in the world - is not just my job, its my passion. Whenever I visit a new town or city I always seek out the library. It is really one of the first places I look for. To me it is just as important as any of the other sites I have come to visit. It's a sanctuary where the written word is treasured and where the quest for knowledge never ends. To me there is such dignity in a library. A spot where all ideas are welcomed. A place where thought is open for discussion. A place where so many great minds, talented artists, composers, scientists and story tellers from across the globe and encompassing all eras share the same space. A place where it is safe to go and lose yourself in a little nook with a good book and live there for a bit. I have been blessed to have worked in so many great libraries and with so many great people, and I look forward to many more years of the same.

District DirectorSuperior District Library Nov 2014 - PresentSault Ste Marie, MichiganI am proud to be the District Director of an eight member library system in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I get the privilege of working with an amazing group of people who are just as passionate about library service as I am. Our District covers approximately 2,300 sq. miles, most of it rural, in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Our patrons depend on our libraries, four of which are school/publics, for access to books, technology, programs, and help with everything from setting up the ArriveCan app to cross the border, to early childhood reading, to senior services.

DirectorHodgkins Public Library Dec 2012 - Mar 2014Hodgkins, IlAs Director of a small public library I get to wear all hats from ordering books, to technology updates to handling the budget. The upside to a small library is getting to be hands on and knowing your patrons on a first name basis. Knowing your community and catering to their individual needs is much easier as well. And I think small libraries offer outstanding customer service.
