About Lisa Weir

As the Provincial Supervisor of Programs for Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in New Brunswick, I bring a wide variety of professional and personal experiences in both special education and advocacy. My background includes teaching students with diverse needs, including those who are Deaf/hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, and consulting across Atlantic Canada for students who are Deaf with additional challenges. I am passionate about empowering both staff and students to achieve their fullest potential. I maintain a special focus a d interest in CHARGE syndrome, the leading cause of genetic deafblindness. I dedicated ten years to the Board of Directors for the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation and am motivated by my personal experience as a parent to an adult daughter with CHARGE. Beyond my professional endeavors, I am an active plasma donor and enjoy family time, playing competitive pickleball with Team Poach, serving as vice-president and co-operating the Pickleball Saint John pickleball club, and serving as a reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces, where I play saxophone with the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment band.
