Sometimes it is an organization that wants to plan out its next year of work, or a person who is stuck in their current position and contemplating the bigger picture and next move. Sometimes it is someone who is starting a new position that requires growth and change. And other times it is a person or organization that simply wants to understand their own actions and how they influence the larger picture. In addition to working with nonprofit organizations and those in career and life transitions, I have enjoyed working with clients in banking, manufacturing, natural resource management and mining, aeronautics, government, and arts management.

Founded new organization to link people with meaningful volunteer opportunities to build a stronger Cape Cod community. With the Board sets the vision and direction for the organization; develops and implements programs and new initiatives; builds local, state and national partnerships; manages day-to-day operations and budgeting; and serves as primary spokesperson and fundraiser for the organization. Start up responsibilities included formation of a new Board of Directors, setting up legal entity within the state of Massachusetts and at the federal level with the IRS, managing spin off from parent nonprofit the Cape Cod Foundation, establishing administrative and financial systems, program development and implementation, and fundraising and grant writing.

Provided executive support during ED search, at which time there were two additional vacant positions in this small staff. Set priorities with Board, hired temporary support, worked with the Board and its committees, donors, and the nonprofit community, and provided continuity and support for staff.

Responsible for oversight and implementation of grants and special programs and initiatives as well as day-to-day management of operations at the Foundation. Primary researcher and author on Understanding Cape Cod to mark Foundation's 20th anniversary.

Responsible for overall management and development of the Center. During my year at the Center, we produced the first Cape Cod Sustainability Indicators Report, a major community project that identifed and researched indicators of a healthy community.

Managed two US Agency for International Development capacity building and grant programs (Democracy Network) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including managing staff teams in each country, program development and evaluation, budgeting and financial report of budgets of $1+ million each, hiring and managing sub-contractors, and serving as primary contact with USAID counterparts. Served as Interim Director of Prague Office for 3 months while local search was underway.

Oversaw USAID funded Democracy Building project in El Salvador, including project planning and implementation, budgeting and project and financial reporting, liaisoning with USAID, securing speakers and making travel arrangements, and working with El Salvador and US staff to ensure smooth running of project. Worked with consultants to develop organizational procedures and safe guards to enhance organizational structure.
