In this role I was responsible for the provision of credible and consistent HR advice to a number of stakeholders (both academic and in professional services) across Goldsmiths. I provided a fully responsive service in relation to HR advice, practice and policy. This included change management processes, employment law, good practice management skills and employee relations. I instigated and undertook investigations and dispute resolution processes as necessary and provided effective line management to a HR coordinator and HR administrator who reported to me directly.

In this role I provided high quality professional advice to managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters including disciplinary, grievance and absence management. I had line management responsibility for the personnel and professional development assistant and I oversaw her work on professional development in the organisation.Much of my work was project based and involved researching new, more cost effective ways of working and then presenting these findings to senior managers and governors in order to make the case for change.

The main duties included; co-ordinating the recruitment process for new teachers and support staff from advertising to induction, providing clear and comprehensive HR advice to managers on a range of employee relations and legal issues and developing, implementing and monitoring all HR policies.
