After a 20-year executive career in marketing, communications, and community engagement, Lisa Bower launched Plus One Meetings in 2013 to help progressive employers positively impact the well-being of working parents. As a mother of four, she understood the urgent need for support for working parents through customized strategies, on-site travel childcare, and workplace solutions that enhance the employee experience. After 11 years of company growth, her expertise extends to workplace unconscious bias, parenting strategies, and leadership. Before starting Plus One Meetings, she served as Director of Marketing for EY’s (Ernst & Young) Michigan and Northwest Ohio region where she was responsible for marketing initiatives, in addition to the management of signature programs including, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year and the Entrepreneurial Winning Women program. Lisa’s career began in Toronto, Canada, where she served on the senior staff team, for the Leader of the Opposition for the province of Ontario. She then joined a national nonprofit focused on youth employment as the Director of Sales & Marketing. Lisa has published numerous articles, produced videos and television commercials, and contributed to a book on financial strategies for women over 50. She wrote, produced, and directed a 45-minute play for DTE about renewable energy that toured elementary and middle schools in Michigan. Lisa has also co-authored the children’s book “From Pound to Palace” and is co-editor of “Gander the Goose Celebrates Canada.”Lastly, Lisa was a founding board member of the Metro Detroit Chapter of the United States National Committee for United Nations Women and served on the Southeast Michigan Regional Council of Inforum board - a women's business alliance. Currently, she resides in Ann Arbor, Mich. with her husband, Matthew, and their four children, Ben, Owen, Lily, and Noah.
