At first glance being a politically aware policy advisor in UK lobbying organisations isn’t the most obvious preparation for running the back office of a busy global speaking, coaching and training business. However, my work in advising and working with local councillors at the LGA and officeholders at the NFU means that I am extremely flexible, able to pick up and learn new concepts and ideas quickly, which this is pretty good grounding for what I do now.My work at The Excedia Group involves using my organisational skills to make our events (workshops and webinars) happen, and that includes a lot of copy-writing and marketing work. I am involved in the business at a strategic level but also make sure that the processes and systems that keep us efficient but flexible are in place and working for us and our clients and club members.. After all, I’m never happier than when I am making sure that we have a process and a plan that can be followed to get the right result.
