Dr. Lisa Chipps is a dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon who specializes in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, laser skin treatments, liposuction, and general and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Chipps is double board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology in Dermatology and in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery, and she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (for Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery) and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery where she is a past president. She is currently the Vice President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.Dr. Chipps lectures internationally on topics in cosmetic surgery, dermatology, and skin cancer treatments. She has been featured on local and national television shows including the Today Show and The Doctors.Dr. Chipps earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Physiological Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She received her M.D. at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. After an internship year at the UCLA-West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital, Dr. Chipps completed a residency in dermatology at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado and at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, in Torrance, California. She then completed a two-year fellowship in procedural dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and cosmetic surgery. She received awards for research in skin cancer and published numerous studies in journals and chapters in textbooks.Currently, Dr. Chipps practices in Beverly Hills, Torrance, and Encino, California, at Moy-Fincher-Chipps Facial Plastics/Dermatology, an affiliate of Golden State Dermatology. Dr. Chipps has volunteered at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she served for a decade as Director of Dermatologic Surgery, taking care of underserved patients. As UCLA faculty, she teaches dermatologic surgery to residents, and she has been honored to receive the teaching award from the Harbor-UCLA Dermatology residents several times. She is also on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
