About Lisa Combs
As an author, educator, autism specialist and behavior specialist, my mission is to promote and support programs and services which create exceptional outcomes for ALL students in learning, and in life. I take a strength based "whole child" approach in my recommendations and specialize in behavior support through effective student engagement and antecedent based intervention. My greatest strength is my ability to connect with educators, in person and in my writing, to inspire professional growth and advance the field of special education. I especially take pride in my ability to build partnerships to advance the implementation of evidence based practices for children with autism spectrum disorders and other complex disabilities. I enjoy public speaking, particularly to motivate change and inspire positive action.I am the president/owner of an independent educational consulting business, Combs Educational Consulting, Ltd. I teach graduate courses in the Intervention Specialist department of Wright State University and I am a published author with AAPC Publishing. I also author children's books with social emotional themes, which are published through Best Friend Books, an LLC which I co-own with illustrator Pam Fraizer. I present regularly at state and national conferences.
