Integrative Psychotherapy And Somatic Experiencing Therapy
CurrentIntegrative psychotherapy is dynamic, evidence-based treatment for depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, emotion dysregulation and chronic pain. This skills-based, depth-oriented approach reveals the mind’s innate wisdom and promotes genuine presence in the actuality of experience. Combined with Somatic Experiencing (SE), this work is ideal for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance-use problems, chronic pain and emotion dysregulation; professionals in high-stress careers or life transition; couples in distress; depressed, anxious, or stressed adolescents. How do mindfulness and compassion increase well-being? Inner well-being—a feeling of vibrant aliveness—arises from mental clarity and emotional stability. Mindfulness and compassion practices stimulate 1) insight and wisdom, 2) skillful behavior, 3) joyful equanimity, and 4) compassion for self and others. A mind freed from habitual anxiety and rumination can meet life's challenges with enthusiasm and intelligence. A heart open and full of joy is responsive and connected.I teach Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention for addiction (MBRP), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression Relapse Prevention (MBCT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I also present at clinical conferences on Mindfulness-based interventions and Buddhist psychology.
